The vision and mission of ISE department are presented as follows:

Vision: To become a reliable training center meeting the need of industrial and social developments around the regional area.

Mission:

-          Ensuring the leading role in Vietnam in training a highly qualified human resource in the field of Industrial Systems Engineering and Logistics & Supply Chain Management

-          Combining effectively among training, scientific research and technology transfer for the industrialization and modernization of the country.

 

Industrial Systems Engineering

Industrial Systems Engineering Program is operated to fulfil the need of human resource for the industrialization and modernization of the country. The competence is formulated based on Vietnam Education Law (VEL) and Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) requirements, which consists of the capability and personality of the workforce, the scope of the workforce in accordance of their expertise and the managerial competence. The program objectives were then designed based on vision and mission of the university, faculty, department, and requirements of key stakeholders.

The program objectives are to have graduates with Bachelor of Engineering degree, who are able to design, install, improve, and control integrated systems of people, materials and facilities in a wide range of organizations producing goods or providing services. Thus, the graduates are equipped with proper knowledge, skills on Industrial Systems Engineering field and good personality. In specific, the graduates from ISE program as an engineer must have:

1.      Basic knowledge about mathematics, natural sciences to acquire professional knowledge and sustain to further education.

2.      Essential specialized knowledge including optimization, system management and service, engineering economy, and etc.; and supporting knowledge about other engineering majors such as mechanical, information technology, logistics and supply chain in order to analyze, evaluate, design, implement and operate systems effectively.

3.      Personal and professional skills; teamwork skills; effective communication skills; the ability to conceive, design, implement, and operation systems in the interactive context of entrepreneurs and society with aims of creating foundation for cooperation in solving inter-disciplinary problems, as well as for further study in profession and higher education.

4.      A good understanding of economy, politics, basic knowledge about social sciences and humanities in compatibility with training major for better service towards sustainable development of community and society.

The program objectives are then translated to program learning outcomes basically emphasizing on generic knowledge, specialize knowledge and competence and skills. The 11 expected learning outcomes of ISE program are:

a.

Apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering to solve problems in the Industrial Systems Engineering field.

b.

Design and conduct experiments, analyze and interpret data, results.

c.

Design a system, a component of system or a process to meet desired needs.

d.

Solve engineering problems in manufacturing, service, logistics and supply chain systems by applying Industrial Systems Engineering tools.

e.

Show the broad knowledge about contemporary issuses and update technologies based on knowledge, skills acquired in theoretical and practical subjects at university.

f.

Demonstrate the ability to work in inter-disciplinary teams by:

-          Leading, planning, operating teams

-          Writing report and sharing work experience

-          Handling conflicts

-          Discussing in groups, proposing innovative ideas

g.

Show the effective communication skills in:

-          Describing and presenting effectively, clearly problems in Industrial Systems Engineering.

-          Conveying and applying solutions to problems from various sources in system.

-          Acquiring TOEIC score of 500 points at least.

h.

Use modern engineering tools in solving engineering practice, such as:

-          General Computing and Object-oriented Programming Language

-          Modern Simulation Techniques

i.

Show the awareness of professions, responsibilities and ethics in career.

j.

Demonstrate the awareness of engineering solutions’ influences in socialization and globalization context.

k.

Identify the need for and to participate in life-long learning.
